Tips and Tricks: Using Conditional Logic

Conditional logic is a way to let your registrant see only the information they need. Using this functionality for your events can de-clutter your registration form and make the registration process much smoother.

There are many ways of using conditional logic. One way would be to use it for a multi-day conference. Once a registrant has chosen weather they will attend the full conference or only one day of the conference then they will only see the agenda items pertaining to the days they signed up for. This makes things much less confusing for the registrant.

Anyway you decide to use it, the conditional logic will keep your questions relevant to the registrant by only asking questions that pertain to the agenda the registrant has chosen.

Another use for conditional logic would be using it in the Activity Selections of your event. Let’s say one of your Activity Selections is a Golf Tournament. Then you would probably ask the following questions:

Will you be participating in the golf tournament? (If “No”, then it won’t show any more. If Yes, then it goes on to show the next question)

  • Will you need to rent clubs? (Yes)
  • Do you need left or right handed clubs? (Right)
  • Will you want to rent a cart? (Yes)
  • Will you need a 2 person or 4 person cart? (2 person)

Here is a view of the conditional logic from the new agenda page.

There are a million small ways of using this functionality in your events. Use it in three areas of the registration pages - Personal information, Lodging & Travel and the Agenda Items. It can be very detailed or very simple. This feature will help streamline your registration by allowing you to gather the information you need from your registrants, while taking out unnecessary questions that they don’t need. Based on their response, the registrant will only see what is pertinent to them for your event and it will only give them what they need.
